Integration with applications

The really successful voice communications solutions secret is its complete and high quality integration opportunities with the customer's internal information systems.
Integration opportunities with any OSS Networks communications solution are varied and endless, and the actual integration volume depends on each customer`s needs and desires. Simpler models of cooperation provide the customer's card opening in the company's internal information system, receiving incoming calls and making outgoing calls, highlighting with a mouse button the telephone number in the company's internal information system. More complicated models of cooperation, for example, allows employees of the company from their PC to control the call queue processing status, to display on the TV screen customer call service trends, to maintain conversation records in database, etc. opportunities.
In order to achieve such good results, it is necessary to integrate voice communications solution in your company's internal information system. In integration projects OSS Networks uses generally accepted electronic data exchange standards.

TAPI

If your company's internal information system supports TAPI (Telephony Application Programming Interface) data exchange protocol and within the project it is sufficient with its offered opportunities, then it is the primary choice for integration. The main advantage of TAPI, compared with other methods, is a relatively quick implementation time of such integration within the framework. But its options are limited, and the previous experience has shown, that rarely a company's internal information system supports it.

XML-RPC and SOAP

If your company's internal information system does not support TAPI protocol or requires non-standard integration functionality, OSS Networks prefers XML-RPC and SOAP RPC mechanisms to exchange with information with your company's internal information system. This model's advantages are: these standards open nature and the programming library availability of almost every development environment. Thus, in the maximum short term OSS Networks engineers, in collaboration with your company`s internal information system specialists, will be able to implement the desired voice communications solutions.

OTHER

If there is a need to integrate voice communication solution in an environment, where the above-mentioned methods can not be used, OSS Networks uses non-standard solutions to provide your company the required functionality:

     • voice communications solution cooperation with the company's databases (MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.),
     • specially designed for the company win32, OSX and Linux programs, which take the necessary actions in each user's PC.

Incoming lines

OSS Networks installed telephone exchanges are able to process all available incoming voice communication channels in Latvia - both traditional (digital and analog) and on IP-based technologies:

Traditional (digital and analog) communications channels:

   • ISDN BRI or ISDN2 and simply - ISDN is the most widespread traditional digital connection in Latvia, where one voice communication line can simultaneously provide two or more simultaneous conversations.
   • ISDN PRI or ISDN30 - a digital connection, where one voice communication line can provide within thirty simultaneous conversations.
   • FXS or analog telephone line that connects the public electronic communications network termination point in the household or in the office premises to the exchange cross or equivalent facility.
   • GSM - mobile communications standard, which can operate in several bands, the most common is 900/1800 MHz systems.

Above mentioned voice communications channel transmitting, using OSS Networks solutions support, is required voice communications channel transmitting card or module. Detailed information about the proposed voice communications channel transmitting cards read here: "Voice transmitting cards".

IP telephony standards:

   • SIP - currently the most popular business IP telephony standard, its open structure and standards have contributed to its spread. Almost all fixed telecommunications operators in Latvia, which offer IP telephony services, providing voice services, using these standards.
   • H.323 - the first widely used IP telephony standard, which is older than SIP standard, but, thanks to its complexity, it is increasingly losing its leading position in favor of SIP standard. Also several Latvian IP telephony operators offer H.323 channels.
   • Skype - currently the most popular IP telephony standard, which is mainly used by private users.
   • IAX/IAX2 - Asterisk-based telephone exchanges mutual voice exchange standard. Telecommunication operators, whose infrastructure is based on Asterisk family equipment, offer IAX connections.
   • Other IP telephony standards: to be able successfully work with other telephone exchanges, OSS Networks offered voice communications solution supports the following standards: MGCP, Cisco Skinny, Nortel Unistim, etc. less popular and widespread IP channels.
